The Anne Arundel Land Records Department keeps deeds, mortgages, releases, subdivision plats, condominium plats, and related instruments. Its public research room at 8 Church Circle in Annapolis offers books and digital images without an appointment. Copies cost $0.50 per page, and certification adds $5 per document. Staff cannot conduct a title search or give legal advice, and individual surveys or site plans are not held there.

Anne Arundel's colonial-depth land series long predate modern Pasadena postal geography. A tract name or earlier deed reference may work when today's street name does not.

Pasadena Property Records Need Addresses

The SDAT Real Property Data Search does not accept an owner's name, town, neighborhood, subdivision, or ZIP as a search key. Choose Anne Arundel County, then search by address, property account identifier, or map reference. Address mode permits an optional street number; omit direction and suffix terms, and add an asterisk to truncate a street name. A result may show owner and mailing address, premises address, parcel identifiers, deed reference, transfer facts, assessment, tax class, improvements, and sales.

Pasadena Court Records Beyond Summaries

Maryland Judiciary Case Search is the main name index for District and Circuit Court cases serving Pasadena. Exact matching is the default. For a partial surname, enter its first character followed by a percent sign; the wildcard cannot start a word or appear in the middle. Results cap at 500, so narrow broad queries by first name, date, court, county, or case type.

A docket is the court's dated event list. The online summary can show parties, roles, case number, filing date, hearing events, document titles, disposition, and judge, but it is not the complete file. Ask the filing clerk in person or in writing for underlying papers. Clerks do not take record requests by telephone. Pasadena Vital Records Access Limits

Current certificates are controlled products, not open people indexes. Anne Arundel County Health provides qualifying birth and death certificate service, while the Maryland Division of Vital Records handles state birth, death, marriage, and divorce products. An applicant supplies event facts, identity, relationship or authority, purpose, signature, and acceptable identification. State and local prices differ, so use the specific application and office before paying.

That distinction matters because a divorce verification is not the court decree, and a state marriage product differs from the clerk's filed license record.

Maryland State Government Article §9-1015 restricts Archives birth records younger than 100 years and death records younger than 10 years. Older births and deaths, and marriage licenses plus divorce or annulment reports transferred to the Archives, are unrestricted. Current certified-copy eligibility still applies through Health-General §4-217.

Pasadena Public Records Custodians

Most in-person Pasadena public records work takes place in Annapolis. Call to confirm where a paper court file is stored, but submit the actual request in writing or at the proper counter. These offices divide land, court, probate, and vital responsibilities.

The Land Records Department takes no appointments and publishes telephone hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Circuit Court and District Court counters publish weekday hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. County Health uses appointments for its local birth and death certificate service.

It may return custody location, a future court date, and bail information, but it is not an arrest archive. State-sentenced custody uses the separate DPSCS locator. Records Maryland Shields From Search

Open-record law works alongside privacy rules. Maryland systems suppress Social Security numbers, driver's-license and state ID numbers, protected voter addresses, sealed court data, and restricted vital records. Safe at Home gives qualifying survivors a substitute address for public and private dealings. A mismatch involving that address is intentional and must never be used to infer the person's actual location.

The Maryland Online Data Privacy Act gives rights against covered private controllers, but it expressly excludes government. An opt-out from a commercial compilation therefore cannot erase a deed, docket, parcel card, or other government record. Contact the government custodian when a statute permits redaction or removal from the source.

Request Pasadena Public Records

The Maryland Public Information Act, General Provisions Title 4, covers existing government records. It does not require an agency to answer a question or create new analysis. Records ready for inspection should be made available at once. When the agency needs clarification, lacks the record, or expects delay, it should communicate promptly and no later than 10 working days. Work should ordinarily finish within 30 days unless the requester agrees to an extension.

1. Identify the actual county or state custodian. Do not address a request to a nonexistent City of Pasadena office.
2. Check the official index and save the case, account, deed, estate, or incident identifier.
3. Use the Anne Arundel PIA portal or the office's mail, counter, or form channel. Describe the record, date range, people, and address narrowly.
4. State whether inspection or copies are wanted and name the preferred format. Set a maximum fee or ask for an estimate.
5. If material is withheld, ask for the legal basis and separable nonexempt portions. The Maryland Public Access Ombudsman can mediate, with Compliance Board or court review where available.

Reasonable search, preparation, and duplication fees may apply, but the first two hours of search and preparation are generally free. A delay notice should give the reason, expected completion, and fee range. Police charges documented by the county include $5 for a report or CAD notes, $25 for 911 audio, $40 for body-camera or CCTV footage, and $0.25 per page beyond 20 pages. Redaction and exemptions still control release.
